DO APPARENT FREEBIES CREATE ABUSE OF THE SYSTEM?
In using the term 'apparent freebies', what is really meant is having services for which we are not charged when supplied/enacted. The NHS will always come to mind as a glowing example of something that is financed from direct taxation, tax on petrol/diesel, cigarettes, plus numerous smoke and mirror methods. Naturally therefore we, the public, foot the bill.
Today I found out some information during a visit to my treatment center for venesection; this entails having an armful of blood removed to keep my blood iron at an acceptable level, caused by the condition Haemochromatosis. Should my iron count increase excessively, it could, for example, store itself in my liver. If unchecked it would cause cancerous tumours. The information to which I referred, is that many patients have to be reminded frequently to have their three monthly blood test for checking purposes. How can these people disregard something that is vital to their future health?
