WINTER WONDERLAND (Bernard/Smith)

I suppose our intrepid politicians remain adamant that the current icy spell of weather is due to global warming.

We are still in November and our local canal is showing signs of freezing over. In recent years, as nature has returned to imposing colder weather upon us, we are regularly told that we need more ridiculous wind turbines, which in turn is adding to the cost of fuel, for a supply that at best, will only be intermittent. Could we suggest keeping a little aside for a range of thick jumpers and balaclavas for wearing about the house.

We can only foresee that within a few years, due to the lack of power station produced electricity, hypothermia will become a major cause of death.
