Obama shouldn't be too concerned with his ongoing problems to complete his staff, having earned his 'bones' in what is probably the sleaziest state in the union, Illinois. The latest set back, a 'double whammy', seems to be the withdrawal of Tom Daschle and Nancy Killefer from the posts of Health and Human Resources Secretary and Chief Performance Officer respectively, both of which could have been advertised in the Guardian. Both their offences are concerned with unpaid taxes. If there is something strange about this, new Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner was approved even after admitting owing thousands to the IRS. We wonder what he has on his boss.
