PROS AND CONS OF GREENNESS.

It is always refreshing to read of a British development that could improve our lives. A research team at Cambridge University has produced a revolutionary type of bulb, LED (light-emitting diodes), this has potentially a life span of a 100,000 hrs. Something tells me somehow that the Government won't be too keen as they will undoubtedly want to tax us heavily for the disposal of the longlife bulbs, due to the mercury content. No doubt the rest of the world will benefit much more quickly, as China could soon be churning them out by the billions.


Another bad omen for the future, fast forward 50 yrs. The author keeps getting visions of rusting, discarded and failed wind turbines scattered across the countryside, with the appearance of large emaciated dandelions, creating a far greater blight on the land than they do at the moment, and that's bad enough.
