WHY CAN'T THE ATHLETES KEEP UP WITH THE PUNDITS?

Leading up to the Olympic games, the British Press has been informing us of what to expect by way of medals. We then get the pundits appearing in the media carrying on in the same mode. According to these people, we should have had two medals on the first day, possibly gold. So what happened? I suppose it's rather like a child saying that they want a lot of food, only then, to leave plenty. This is not, by the way, a criticism of the participants, as cyclist Mark Cavendish had acquitted himself well in the recent Tour de France. The problem with the so-called pundits, they probably want to brag that we heard the results forecast by them. They are naturally responding to the inane questions of the 'presenter' in the studio, who, very often, wouldn't be amiss in the 'Wooden Tops.'

The author is sure that we have suggested a solution to this child-like nonsense in the past. Certainly, in the media, these clever clogs will be receiving appearance money. The idea is that their dues will go to charity when they are wrong. Getting paid for being a moron must never happen; particularly in the case of the BBC, since their income is extorted from the public. This would make the whole Olympic, or indeed, any other sporting occasion far more interesting. We could even have a plastic medal for the biggest fool.

BY THE WAY! HAS CAVENDISH CROSSED THE LINE YET?

THEY'RE OFF!

I'm sure that the whole world is aware that the 2012 London Olympics are now underway. The author is not one for too many fireworks, or indeed, 'anything you can do, we can do better.' Even so, there were aspects of the opening ceremony which were quite impressive. The industrial revolution theme being most surprising, and well staged. The NHS theme on the other hand, was very gimmicky. What was disappointing, was the selection of background music. A medley of Gilbert and Sullivan would not have gone amiss with the 19th century theme. The rural aspect was crying out for 'We'll gather lilacs' (Novello), with a commanding overall theme, Noel Coward's 'London Pride'. What did we get? Boring Rap and Rock and Roll, which offers nothing to remember; lacking the musical quality to linger in the audiences reverie.

The lighting effects created in and around the main stadium were pretty stunning, with high marks going to the director of the opening display, Danny Boyle.

BUT OH! THAT AWFUL MUSIC.

NOT ALL SOCIALISTS ARE DUMB.

Apropos our recent posting, 'POPULATION FIGURES AND THE DOUBTERS', at least Frank Field, one of the few from the ranks of the Labour Party, views current situations with logic. One of his recent quotes, regarding the findings from last year's census, showing startling increases in the population. 'This is not so much a wake-up call: it is almost time for the firing squad for politicians who have allowed this to happen.' The dumb-clucks just don't understand the problems that are incubating right under their noses.

UNFORTUNATELY, THE OUTCOME WON'T BE PRETTY.

ELECTRONIC GIZMOS, NOW THERE'S A SURPRISE.

Followers of these columns will be aware that we have suggested, that the age of instant communications appears only to have made the western world go bust; or are there other disadvantages in some of these implements which, for many, are nothing more than gimmicks. We have made it clear, that had these instruments of online information been available to Hitler and Goebbels, post second world war could have been very different. Why? Because too many people are obsessed by anything that is available to them in a kind of magical format, whether it be true or false. In fact, these folk would argue that the truth is a matter of opinion; anything to defend their corner.

Well! It would seem that some eminent psychologists have discovered major side effects from the compulsion by users; youngsters, in particular, are developing disorder problems. Every few minutes they have the need to check whether or not they have received a text, or that they can probably solve any query that may be confronting them. Dr. Larry Rosen, American Professor of Psychology, is convinced that disturbing things are happening to the minds of the obsessive users. Likewise, Dr. Michael Sinclair, Clinical Director of the City Psychology Group in London, talks of the stress that this new element in our life style is causing.

We can't say that these instruments of reaching out are totally bad. You wouldn't be reading this if the world wide web were not available to us, and in many cases, brings considerable information to the user. However, is this a new form of drug to be abused?

AND IS IT CLASS 'A'?

THE BBC AND IT'S ASSUMED MORAL SUPERIORITY.

The British Broadcasting Corporation has an elevated superiority, which it projects daily in both its news and current affairs programmes. It loves discrediting bankers, conservative politicians and anyone who is sceptical about the European Union. The Beeb wants a perpetual left wing government, which guarantees the corporation's future, being funded with an annual licence fee; a type of legal extortion.

Unfortunately, in the absence of even-handedness, they cannot dare to report on the major story, about which the BBC would normally be spouting off, i.e tax payers who change their circumstances to the advantageous position of making themselves a limited company, thus avoiding much in the way of tax and national insurance contributions. It now transpires, that around 150 presenters on the payroll of the Beeb practise this 'get out' as a loop hole to maximise their income. This in itself is not illegal, but, should the boot be on the other foot, these very same presenters and inquisitors would be back on their high horses pontificating about moral responsibility.

To clarify the position, these people are employed by the BBC on a permanent basis, and considered by the licence fee payer as such.

BUT SO FAR, THEY HAVE NOT UTTERED ANY COMMENT.

POPULATION FIGURES AND THE DOUBTERS.

Announced this week, the results of last year's census in England and Wales. This figure has to be part guestimate, as many people refuse to disclose their details. Nevertheless, we officially have an increase in population of almost 4 million. Interestingly however, there are sceptics around that say the number crunchers who suggest that we consider the people who are convinced that we look at the amount of food that is consumed, which gives us a much higher figure of up to 80 million. This group may be including the rest of the UK, Scotland and Ulster. Even so, this is a far greater outcome than the official census.

We shall never know of course, as such a likely number would put paid to any government in power. Yet we should know. The situation regarding schooling, plus patient numbers passing through the health service. These would be an ideal indication, rather like food consumption.

Does taxpayer GB therefore, continue to fund the welfare of people who decide to adopt the UK as their home due to the benefits available?

WE CAN'T SEE THIS LASTING FOR MUCH LONGER.

ANOTHER DAY, MORE LEFT WING BILGE.

My home city of Nottingham, Robin Hood country, is still plagued by over-taxing, just as in the 'Big Bad Sheriff' days of old. Yesterday saw the deputy council leader, Labour naturally, complaining that central government needs to supply more cash for them to spend on care for the elderly. When begging, always pick an emotive subject. What was not mentioned, was the outstanding council tax and council house rentals. This is before we get around to the disgraceful waste of money on the loss-making tram extension.

Meanwhile, the Labour Party's broadcasting arm i.e the local East Midlands BBC news, with an item on the condition of the roads, finished with a plug on behalf of the GMB Union: "The problem was caused by Government cuts"; what they really meant were 'savings', the motorist already 'coughs up' adequate funds for all road work. Obviously, we have to tolerate this kind of behaviour from an organisation which is funded by extortion, with a licence to steal. We should enquire how much the union paid for this piece of advertising; bearing in mind that the GMB doesn't want any such savings, because it means that they collect fewer contributions, a large chunk of which is handed onto the Labour Party. This means the hard working private sector, which pays for the public sector to subscribe to an organisation hell bent on bankrupting the nation.

HOW CAN THAT ADD UP?

OAP'S AND SO CALLED FREEBIES.

This week has seen an uprising of Old Age Pensioners, up in arms due to the suggestion that the free bus passes and winter fuel allowance should be means tested.

Firstly, let me confirm that the author is a 76 years old pensioner, with very moderate pensions. In addition, I have comparatively modest savings, which, if the banks were working on a proper interest rate of around 5%, I could enjoy reasonable vacations on the interest. Nevertheless, the senior citizen has been, not unlike younger folk existing on benefits, comatosed into this world of entitlement. It was only a few years ago when the aforementioned benefits were made available to the elderly by Gordon (Incapability) Brown, as a vote buying exercise, within an economy which was shrinking rapidly. We now have the sceptre of my fellow OAP's that this largesse is readily available. Well, unfortunately, all the money has gone with the wind.

Let me add that the writer is not in favour of means testing; assuming that the 'better off' have paid their dues, they should receive the same benefits as any other member of the public; some of whom may not have made such contributions.

The answer should lie in the way payments/pensions are paid. All these added benefits should appear in our monthly payments, whereby the wealthy folk would pay more tax. We need to rid ourselves of this feeling that someone else is responsible for our own lifestyle. Socialism has never worked; and running further into debt leaves an enormously daunting prospect for future generations. In Germany, for example, pensioners have to make a contribution to the health scheme; this makes people more concerned about their well being.

Some may recall MEP Daniel Hannan's address in the European Parliament in 2009, see Youtube, in the presence of 'Incapability Brown', when he made the point that every child born in Britain at that time was consigned a tax bill of £20,000.

WE DREAD TO THINK WHAT IT IS NOW.

WET WET WET.

It would appear that the Northern Hemisphere in particular is suffering from extreme weather conditions, with the United Kingdom experiencing an incredibly rain soaked summer; June having a record for the most rainfall, and we are well on the way to a record for July. So what is the problem with the weather, or should we anticipate these extreme conditions, and plan our existence accordingly, by leaving far more land to act as flood plain?

Our politicians are so obviously oblivious to the fact that England, in particular, is vastly over populated. We can easily say 50 million + a few million unaccounted for, is far too high a figure for England alone. A maximum of 40 million would be more suitable, giving us the opportunity to feed ourselves, by creating more farmland.

Along with the forthcoming armageddon that will occur to international economics, the clowns want us to continue building on 'green belt'. Fortunately, for the time being, there is no money for such stupidity, even with them carrying on with their quantitative easing programme, which would be better named 'chasing the debt'.

THERE MUST BE A BETTER FORM OF DEMOCRATIC GOVERNMENT.

THE HOPELESS CAUSE THAT IS THE BBC.

Fortunately, last nights 'Question Time' was the last in the series, with a break for the summer. Earlier in the evening, in advertising the programme, all that was said, was, that John Lydon would appear on the panel. Lydon, for the unaware, was one of the 'Sex Pistols'. Just the type of retarded intellect pursued by the child- like broadcaster, The Beeb.

As expected, from a so-called 'Pop celebrity', we were entreated to a barrage of appalling language, the stock in trade of Lydon and his ilk. One could have bet one's home on the fact that a question on drugs would be on the agenda. This was obviously 'bread and butter' to anyone from the 'Pop' culture. We got all the 'lifestyle choice' drivel from this icon of the fringe culture, beloved by one of the world's most appalling broadcasters.

We can only hope that the new Director General, George Entwistle, who takes up his position in the Autumn, will improve the quality of its output for such programmes. Although it could be that he embraces this 'dumbing down' process, having, of course, been party to this departure from responsible broadcasting. We shall see.

We have suggested previously, that there is no room for politicians on the panel; they should be replaced by members of the public. Hopefully we could muster a few, who can put more than two words together coherently.

THE CRASS LEFT WING BIAS MUST ALSO GO.

YOGI BLAIR ATTEMPS COMEBACK.

This is the story of the smarmiest, con-artist politician Britain ever produced. He succeeded on the back of an under-educated nation, who would listen to any lying drivel spouted by someone promising the world. Tony Blair, the former Labour Prime Minister, is hoping that he could claw his way back into, not only national politics, but possibly run for the Presidency of the European Union, if the EU is still there. This disgraceful former leader makes the real Yogi Bear positively puritanical.

Blair has been spending recent years as a special envoy, on behalf of the West, to the Middle East; we don't have to spend too long considering his success rate in this area. One would suspect that he has been putting most of his energy into a lecture tour; heaven only knows what idiots would listen to his drivel. However, it appears to have seen him £20 million better off in the last year alone.

For a further insight into this unprincipled being, he mislead Parliament on numerous occasions, not least the Iraq war. The author, in actual fact, was not against the intervention to oust Saddam Hussein; it should, nevertheless, have been executed at the conclusion of the Gulf War in 1991.

Blair is what we in Britain call a 'Tart'. We have so-called footballers who are in the same mould, who will do or say anything to remain in the thoughts of the 'dim' masses.

WE RECOMMEND: GOODBYE BLAIR.
