WHY CAN'T THE ATHLETES KEEP UP WITH THE PUNDITS?
Leading up to the Olympic games, the British Press has been informing us of what to expect by way of medals. We then get the pundits appearing in the media carrying on in the same mode. According to these people, we should have had two medals on the first day, possibly gold. So what happened? I suppose it's rather like a child saying that they want a lot of food, only then, to leave plenty. This is not, by the way, a criticism of the participants, as cyclist Mark Cavendish had acquitted himself well in the recent Tour de France. The problem with the so-called pundits, they probably want to brag that we heard the results forecast by them. They are naturally responding to the inane questions of the 'presenter' in the studio, who, very often, wouldn't be amiss in the 'Wooden Tops.'
The author is sure that we have suggested a solution to this child-like nonsense in the past. Certainly, in the media, these clever clogs will be receiving appearance money. The idea is that their dues will go to charity when they are wrong. Getting paid for being a moron must never happen; particularly in the case of the BBC, since their income is extorted from the public. This would make the whole Olympic, or indeed, any other sporting occasion far more interesting. We could even have a plastic medal for the biggest fool.
BY THE WAY! HAS CAVENDISH CROSSED THE LINE YET?
