A SIGN OF THE TIMES.

The disconcerting fact that much of sport is now sponsored by online betting outfits doesn't augur well for the ongoing recession, which hopefully will ease itself out of the system. This, unfortunately, may take many years. The sad fact is that, in the meantime, some folk will hope that a good win on a bet should see them through.

We are not spoil sports here, but too much betting activity can only lead to more problems, all to be manifested further down the line. Betting needs to be considered rather like investment but only when it's affordable. Dreaming of punters' responsibility is not normally the writer's weakness. What is so scary, seems to be the number of these betting firms, all, presumably, making plenty of money.
