BILge and Hilary BENN.
As the nation prepares itself to 'slop out' on a grand scale and refuse collection becomes the profession to take up as a career, we can assume that local governments will employ thousands more personnel, who will be employed for a comparatively short period compared with proper workers, retiring on a good pension, (paid for by the overburdened taxpayer GB), at the age of 60. There is no doubt that any addition to sorting our waste will create thousands more jobs, with levels of endless management stretching to the moon and back, when households will have done all the work themselves.
Rubbish can so easily be turned into fuel for power generation. Surely we can devise a system for eliminating the smoke and fumes. Windmills and tidal force are not consistent enough to maintain temperatures that are a requirement by law. There are times when the wind doesn't blow and the sea becomes dormant for a while, at the cusp of high/low tide. The tidal force will be at it's most productive very often in the middle of the night, and windmills are as unsightly as they are ridiculous.
Can we therefore come up with some smart answers before we all wander comatosed into the oblivion awaiting us, as we waste our time increasing taxes from money we no longer possess.
