IS NATURE TESTING US?
We are only barely through Spring but the world is being battered by some catastrophic natural events. The first being the earthquake in the Christchurch area of New Zealand; followed fairly swiftly by the devastation of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami combined, and this week horrendous tornadoes across a large area of the USA, reportedly the worst for forty years. So are we being tried to the limit regarding the misdemeanours with which or whatever human nature is abusing the planet?
It would be easy to fall for the popular trend of climate change, which in the writers opinion could easily make a case for over population. This, however, would have little effect on tectonic plate movement. Wind creation in a comparatively sparsely populated area over the American states, again would be difficult to substantiate. Something has niggled me over the years, observing some of the excesses of human nature. We pretend to be concerned about the atmosphere, this being exaggerated by the Greens, as a way of increasing taxes. Nevertheless, the point that the Greens have made about over population carries the best logical argument. The population to fresh water ratio must be very close to the point of abuse. Should we be concerned, since the greater part of the earth's surface is covered by salt water, which can be de-salinated of course? But should it?
WE ARE NOT SMARTER THAN MOTHER NATURE!
