ANGELA EAGLE HAS LANDED.

The writer recalls well the days when Winston Churchill exchanged banter with the few female members of the House of Commons. There was little or no apoplexy, it just happened to pass as routine business. Not now, this has become a major political issue.

Yesterday, a Labour Shadow Treasury Minister, Angela Eagle, acting rather like a wag in 'The Kop' end, was teased by the Prime Minister, jokingly referring to her as dear. Oh, what a palaver! Do enough people realise, that this kind of reaction, a pretence of being offended, demeans the country as a whole, being a main component of the decline of a once proud nation? Dry humour and wit having been a staple of Britain over recent centuries; particularly when we had great orators.

The crux of the situation is, however, that a Treasury spokeswoman, on behalf of the Labour party, has the temerity to dare raise her head above the parapet.

HOW QUICKLY WE ALL FORGET THE DAMAGE THEY LEFT US.
