CHRISTMAS COMES EARLY FOR UKIP.

As the blue rinse socialist, Chicken 'Chick' Cameron, runs for the nearest fire escape door, regarding the contrived ratification of the deceitful Lisbon Treaty, he may be correct on the surface that it would be pointless to have a referendum on the ratified treaty. Well, as pointed out by the man who should have led the party, David Davis, there are endless aspects of our relationship with Europe upon which we should be consulted. Let us get used to referenda; this should be in operation in order to reverse the method used by Brussels, so that, whenever they try to trump our ace, we just have another referendum forcing them to stack their hand.

This is, of course, manna from heaven for the UKIP in particular and, to a degree, the BNP. We soon forget what gives strength to these fringe parties. It is just possible that the former could gain significant numbers of votes, thereby creating a 'hung parliament'. On the one hand we could have the repeat of a 'Lib/Lab' pact, sucking up to our new bosses in Brussels. Alternatively, if UKIP made substantial gains, they could become a force, if joined with the proper conservatives.

It will be interesting to see what different political contortions Cameron assumes during the period in the run up to the General Election.

But don't forget, that whatever happens, unless logical people make a move, we have been sold down the river, to be pushed around by unelected bureaucrats. We can only see a backlash here if we continue to avoid democracy.

Finally, we must never forget who forced this situation upon the UK, Blair and Brown. Let us consider what charges they must face for their treachery.
