THE WESTMINSTER NOVICES HANDICAP.
The longest race ever, as it is now half way through it's twelfth year, is about winners and losers. The politicians being the winners and taxpayer GB the loser. Politicians are always going to win, as we allow them perpetually to move the goalposts and increase their salaries/pensions package at a whim. In addition, hoping to catch the eye of that corrupt operation in Brussels endeavouring to climb on board that enormous 'gravy train', the European Union. Meanwhile, taxpayer GB has to pick up the tab, if not now, later, when the payment will be far greater.
It's so comforting to know that our top weight PM can barely sleep at night worrying on our behalf. Well let us point out to him that it is no good crying over spilt milk when you are responsible for the spillage in the first place. If the economy had been performing as well as this nincompoop has tried to convince us, and too many believed, we could not possibly have finished up where we are. The problem is, that this was all done with 'smoke and mirrors' as described in previous blogs. Trillions of borrowed cash whizzing around the economy, with the newly formed FSA not even playing a passive role in what turned out to be a total disaster.
So what can be done? Surely it's time for taxpayer GB to stand together, forget party differences for a while. We have to ensure that politicians are scared of the electorate and stop talking to us rather like snake oil sales people. It is astounding how easily Jaqui 'I'm a happy hippie' Smith can now lie with such conviction. Why are we not confronting this useless lot by threatening their future with the withdrawal of their pensions pot? It is money extorted from us in the first place, never forgetting that they have destroyed the majority of private pension schemes. Should a manifesto promise be a promise backed by law? To renege on such a promise changes the ethos. It is mooted that we subscribe even more money towards assisting the party's electioneering, just to lie to us again. Parties don't need to electioneer further than performing/opposing in their everyday activities; the public must decide on that evidence alone. Why do we need all these people processing laws previously passed by Brussels? Saving our own money is all important.
We need now to prepare ourselves for the longest 'back straight' ever. Those in receipt of state occupational pensions will appear to be in easy street initially, but don't hold your breath. The diminishing private sector (providers) will soon cotton on. The potential mayhem won't be pretty. Good Government would have spotted this, but not this shower.
NOW LET'S SEE, WHERE DID I PUT THOSE GOALPOSTS?
