COMMUNICATION AIDS, PRO'S AND CONS.

Everytime I spot yet another youngster walking along talking on a mobile 'phone, and it's dozens per day, I think, on the one hand, that they are keeping the economy going with their payments, but on the other, here we have a generation that no longer has time to think. To imagine and plan is something that the mind needs to be doing on a regular basis, we do need moments of privacy to practice this art.


Computers (IT) bring tremendous benefits to our everyday well being. Are these benefits greater than the downside? Hopefully yes. Let us not, nevertheless, overlook the appalling cases of pornography, scams and fraud generally; all of which seem to be occurring on an increased basis. As these septic practices abound, the world becomes a more disreputable place for law abiding citizens. We all may 'huff and puff' without doing anything positive in response. To ignore the consequences has no foundation if we want civilisation to survive.


Businesses could no longer operate without these devices. As they advance in sophistication, they appear to be doing our thinking for us. Does this stop the operative from thinking clearly?
