McLAREN ENGAGE REVERSE GEAR.

As the F1 season draws to a close so we get the novice antics from what should be a leading motor racing team. The usual pathetic preamble to the race, this one the Japanese affair at Fugi, was informing us that Lewis Hamilton has now matured and is able to control his natural impulses, which could lead to reckless decisions. We are informed that he is surrounded by advisers, including sports psychologists. It would be interesting to know how many motor races they have won between them. The whole thing smacks of the cricket howler, "We'll dib, dib, dib" etc.,

McLaren must be aware that they are not just fighting the other cars but the FIA. who appear to be in the pocket of Ferrari and, in order to succeed, have to employ drivers who don't fold with the winning line in sight. Never flatter to deceive. Use drivers who can stay cool under pressure. The pre race rhetoric suggested that he, Hamilton, only had to follow Massa around. Well he did that alright. I think his driving was the worst ever witnessed from a contender for the world title, much as last year; unless of course it is all a fix.

Conversely, the decision that Bourdais (Torro Rosso) should be on gardening leave if a Ferrari is on the pit straight, is bound to put the future of the sport in some doubt. Supporters do not watch the spectacle to have the result fixed afterwards.

INCIDENTLY, THE SINGAPORE RACE WAS PATHETIC.
