QUANGO, QUANGO, QUANGO, QUANGO!

Extraordinary how a government can ignore impending power crises for years, to then rush through a bill flying in the face of local democracy regarding planning decisions. The implication however, that this is solely for purposes of power generation, is a complete red herring. For years this dim outfit masquerading as a government has been juggling with more balls than those in a frame of snooker and has reached the obvious conclusion that we have to return to expanding our nuclear option. They sold off all our expertise in this area which will now force us to purchase from elsewhere. I seem to recall that we were the forerunners regarding nuclear power stations soon after WW11. We are being wrongly informed that wind turbine power has a big future. If we covered the whole of Britain with these monstrosities we would only generate a fraction of the electricity required, subject to wind power, at an extortionate cost. Plus the fact that we could become airborne in a high wind.

So we can now expect instant bulldozer like activity from this proposed planning Quango. This on the surface seems an efficient path to tread. If however you are to have one or more of the proposals on your doorstep I suspect a different conclusion would be reached. We could as a
nation debate this indefinitely but always coming to the same conclusion, that we shall require even more electricity in the future unless we reduce the size of population. Can we imagine a time when we can't turn on the TV, computer and cooking facilities. Banking (cash machines), shopping and business etc., another setback, plus the fact that in winter a lot of people will suffer, believe me our lives will be turned upside down. All this being the fault of a dithering goverment in it's third term. WHO VOTES FOR THIS TRIPE?.

The Denouement:

But this is the crunch, a Quango with what will be supreme powers. Expect an Eco town or a nuclear waste dump near you. Well here's a suggestion, let's put the waste dumps under the Eco towns. "NEXT APPLICATION PLEASE".
