THE NHS AND I.
We have written here in the past about general criticism of our health service, which we assume must have legitimate foundation. The author is pleased, yet again, to report good efficient handling of what turned out to be an infected appendix. My Doctor saw me immediately, referring me instantly to hospital. Within 3 hours, I was being thoroughly checked, once I had explained that the only allergy I suffer from is 'country and western' music.
Admittedly, the hospital is a major teaching centre, but credit where credit is due. Nevertheless, there is one comment I feel should be reported; one of my fellow patients made a remark about NHS penny pinching, to which I responded by pointing out that they are our pennies that they are saving.
SHORTLY MUCH MORE WILL HAVE TO BE SAVED.
