As the fraudulent union Unite slinks off to lick it's wounds, and consider more Marxist tactics to destroy our major airline, or preferably, try and return it to public ownership; let us look at the problems, based on the details available to the public. BA is now into it's third decade as a private concern, which has to make profits in order to survive. The union, conversely, has to fight this objective to satisfy the bloated workforce.
The author has always been convinced that, since the business was floated on the open market, it remained operating just as an overstaffed, overpaid concern. Most folk who take an interest in such facts would know, the only thing that happens is that the business hedge-hops from one crisis to the next. Well it is now decision time! Without ever backing off one iota, what needs to be incorporated into any discussions must be what dim ministers decide to do regarding penalising the air traveller with more taxes against the hoax of climate change. Every time any such edicts come from this inept parliamentary administration, BA staffing levels have to be reconsidered.
