When we have a government as useless as the current administration, one can only expect it to be sticking it's nose into every situation, floundering all over the place, turning a problem into a gigantic disaster. This is a trick of politicians, giving the impression that they are doing us all good. The problem naturally gets out of hand, as with global warming/climate change, they have to perpetuate the lies. So swine flu could well be in a similar category: a scare story, which has been turned into a job creation scheme for novices, with the supposed cure causing as much mayhem as the illness.
