IF ONLY THIS WERE AN OUTBREAK OF DEMOCRACY.
The Conservative Party appears, on the surface, to have engaged in an outbreak of democracy in selecting their candidate for the constituency of Totnes, Dr. Sarah Wollaston. To have someone from the medical profession will be an asset. However, is it misleading when undoubtedly this short list was vetted by Cameron? In which case is he looking only for voting fodder. Let's hope not. I recall a comment from former doctors of mine, a husband and wife partnership. Before the 1997 General Election, just prior to her retirement, the wife in the practice imparted to me, that if Labour got in, they would destroy the NHS. The service can so obviously benefit from some new clear thinking, let us therefore hope that Dr Wollaston, if elected, can bring such things about.
It is apparent, nevertheless, that the democracy which is so alive in Totnes is not being duplicated in Rutland and Melton, where Alan Duncan seems to be hanging on against the will of the local Conservative Party.
COME ON CAMERON, IT'S TIME TO 'SLAM DUNCAN'.
