LEAVE RICKY PONTING ALONE.

The writer has noted that certain letters to the press criticise the Australian cricket captain for wearing his 'baggy cap' during his post match TV interviews. I can only suggest that it looks a million times better than the 'billboard headgear' worn by our lot. Pride in one's nation is paramount to the Aussies. When we produce a batsmen of his quality, we can spout on about such things, unless, of course we acquire a little decorum, once a main ingredient of being British.

The Aussies didn't bleat either about many dubious decisions in the Lord's Test. Furthermore, Andrew Strauss would have known that he didn't take that slip catch cleanly.

WE WANT TO BEAT THEM, BUT FAIRLY SO.
