WE COULD VERY WELL EXCHANGE ONE PLAYGROUP FOR ANOTHER.

The Tories' success in the Norwich North by-election brings yet another inexperienced youngster to Westminster, just when we need hard headed business folk to take some very difficult decisions. Chloe Smith does have one thing going for her, however, she at least sounds educated. If she is as sensible as she sounds, we can say that comprehensive education does produce some clear thinking people. Nevertheless, it's logic and commonsense, which normally comes from years of experience, that we should be searching for. Now is not the time to gamble, playing at diversity and quotas.

As long as Cameron presses on with his concubine recruitment policy, we shall finish up as our title suggests, just a new set of incompetents, with Miss Smith in a prominent position in a new Government. Remember the Blair Babes!

OUR METHOD OF GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO CHANGE.

YOU'LL NEVER WALK ALONE (Rodgers/Hammerstein)

Following an incident in a Southport 'drinking joint', a business man is lucky to escape jail after an attack by his chin on the fists of Liverpool and England footballer, Steven Gerrard. This occurred in the wee small hours of ..., when the fists of the young family man were denied the right to dominate the music selection. The outcome provoked the chin into an aggressive mode, bringing about a court action, and was lucky not to face severe charges.

LEAVE RICKY PONTING ALONE.

The writer has noted that certain letters to the press criticise the Australian cricket captain for wearing his 'baggy cap' during his post match TV interviews. I can only suggest that it looks a million times better than the 'billboard headgear' worn by our lot. Pride in one's nation is paramount to the Aussies. When we produce a batsmen of his quality, we can spout on about such things, unless, of course we acquire a little decorum, once a main ingredient of being British.

The Aussies didn't bleat either about many dubious decisions in the Lord's Test. Furthermore, Andrew Strauss would have known that he didn't take that slip catch cleanly.

WE WANT TO BEAT THEM, BUT FAIRLY SO.

WILL NOBODY RID US OF THESE MEDDLESOME FOOLS?

So it's possible that the self promoting, incompetent Blair could fulfil his ultimate goal as President of a federal European Union. In addition, it is being suggested that the curmudgeonly, economic neophyte Brown is a possible for a post with the IMF. Will somebody please wake the author from this nightmare. How can this be so? We have here, two of the most disgraceful characters ever to walk the former hallowed corridors of Westminster; is the opposition to do nothing, on behalf of a disbelieving electorate? Or is it, as anticipated, a game that is being played out, including Cameron, hiding behind a notion that it could be good for Britain.

This can only happen to a backward nation.

NO WONDER HE'S NO LONGER A POSTMAN.

It is now obvious that one needs to be more intelligent to deliver mail, rather than to run the Home Office. Postman Pat, aka Alan Johnson, informs us that he has no intention of holding back the flood of immigrants wishing to avail themselves of our freebies. He is also adamant that he can sleep happily at night with the thought of a population of 70 million, in the limited space of our comparatively small land mass. His reasons appear to be rather dubious. How can their presence help our work force, since we produce very little, and with unemployment approaching 2.5 million, which increases the amount of benefits, plus the handouts given to incomers. Where does he think the money comes from?

We have made suggestions here before regarding population. The nominal 50 million in England needs to be brought down to 40 million within, let us say ten years. Then we can debate, nationally, whether to continue the reduction.

This would solve our promised 'green requirements', by returning much green belt to us; alhough we have got to get back to a form of production, making items that the public will want to purchase. Governments normally insist on forcing us into purchasing things we don't need, e.g. longlife light bulbs.

ARE MINISTERS JUST LOOKING FOR A JOB IN BRUSSELS?

OBAMA'S BLUES.

We wrote in a posting shortly after Barack Obama made it to the White House, that he, the new President, was having difficulty in putting together his administration, due to a number of his nominees being found to be at odds with the law, for various reasons. One of these, nevertheless, made it through the torpedo net, Steven Rattner. During his brief sojourn in office, he managed to throw mountains of taxpayer US cash at their motor industry to ensure it's survival, at least until after the next Presidential election. In his former life, he had been a partner in private-equity group Quadrangle, which is now under investigation by the New York Attorney's Office.

WHY DON'T THEY TREAT THESE CHARACTERS AS THOUGH THEY ARE TRYING TO ENTER THEIR COUNTRY.

CROSSED TRAM LINES.

The locals of Nottinghamshire, UK, will be familiar with the question of the proposed extension to the city's tram system. The new regime in control at County Hall is the revitalised Tory Party, under the leadership of Mrs Kay Cutts. They undoubtedly gained that win because they construed the scheme as a complete waste of money, particularly to the people in the north of the county i.e Mansfield, Retford and Worksop. The benefit being solely for the city of Nottingham. Last Friday, the 10th July, however, BBC local television news ran a major story regarding what was considered to be a 'back tracking' of the new council, much to the chagrin of the author. It was clear, however, that not one Tory was interviewed in this broadcast. Within twenty minutes of witnessing this piece of news, I happened to be speaking to Mrs Cutts at a social function. I challenged her with this hot piece of news, about which she was completely unaware.

This would suggest that the BBC was compliant in a piece of spin by the Nottingham City Council, which is Labour controlled, as a decision on the go ahead is to be made before the end of July.

To clarify the position of the Nottingham City Council. They want to impose a parking charge to people employed in the city, within company car parks.

Add to this the fact that phase one of the tram network is losing money hand over fist. In many cases down to the practice of some users avoiding paying their dues.

ISN'T SOCIALISM WONDERFUL!

WHY DALLY, DUNCAN?

It has come to our attention that the MP for Rutland and Melton, Alan Duncan, is under pressure from his constituency party to stand down. They don't like the way he's been playing fast and loose with his expenses. Which probably dents their propriety, since they voted him in to this position of trust. The local party have, we understand, taken this complaint to the very top of the party, only to be rebutted. So much for democracy and the oft quoted, "we are listening to the public". We can only assume that Cameron has painted himself into a Section 28 corner here.

RUTLAND AND MELTON, BE ASSURED MANY A TRUE TORY IS ON YOUR SIDE.

HERE ARE THE FOOTBALL RESULTS: G8 CO2.

Just another week in the life of the G8 member states. This one, a getting away from it all break, in central Italy. If however these folk represent the wealthy nations of the developed world, what on earth are the US and UK governments doing at the party?

Following the failed early discussions regarding the global economy, they soon got around to the 'old chestnut', climate change, aka; global warming. This is much safer ground, as the suckers are much happier paying their taxes against this bogus research, apparently based upon computer projections by scientists, who always add the rider 'and it's effect on climate change' to their projects. Shouldn't we be asking what has happened to the billions already extorted from hapless taxpayer GB? Well let us assume this goes to propping up the banks. What a con.

BROWN OF COURSE OFFERS YET MORE AID FROM OUR DEBT.

A VON STAUFFENBERG COULD YET BE A WINNER.

For some considerable time, my brother in law, resident in Berlin for almost twenty years, has been informing me of the unrest amongst the German thinkers, particularly their disquiet at the direction the EU is going. In fact, many want to return their currency to the mark. The German Government attempted to vote on the Lisbon Treaty ratification prior to the summer recess. This was halted, as presumably there was grave doubt over such an undemocratic move so close to a General Election. It is difficult to say where this leaves Chancellor Merkel, as she has stumbled along with the problem of having no majority, the main fault with the PR system of voting. If however she wins a second term, it could be that she will be backed by a party that will insist on a re-think.

So where, you might think, does Count Franz Ludwig von Stauffenberg, the third son of Claus von Stauffenberg, enter into this situation? He has secured a ruling from the German constitutional court, which insists that the Berlin Parliament must significantly strengthen it's own powers prior to signing away their nationality. We are indebted to Peter Oborne for this information. With much luck and a fair wind this could take some considerable time. Possibly giving we 'Brits' an opportunity to vote upon the said treaty. Incidently, the writer has not come across any references to these facts on the New Labour propaganda arm, the BBC.

ANY GOVERMENT FAILING IN THIS ACT OF DEMOCRACY, SHOULD BE CONSIGNED TO A WHEELIE BIN OF OUR CHOOSING.

BLUE RINSE SOCIALISM AND SECTION 28.

Who gave the little 'Tart' Cameron the right to apologize on behalf of the Conservative Party regarding Section 28, concerning the subject of homosexuality and its reintroduction into the curriculum for school children? So three R's is now four R's. If we want to confuse youngsters with this bile, heaven help the consequences. As a grandfather of four and stepgrandfather of nine grandchildren, it is high time to stand up and be counted. Whatever happened to preparing children to read and write and be able to add and subtract. It is understood that in using a credit or debit card the latter is not a prerequisite, but it is useful.

Let us outline here the subsequence of the distancing from a normal/natural approach to education and the enforcement of a doctrine that a child can't possibly comprehend; same sex relationships. The author is not at odds here with the presence of homosexuality, indeed one of my hobbies is collecting records from the 'golden era' of popular songs, from the first half of the twentieth century. Within this art form, as with many areas of art, there is a high proportion of diverse sexuality, which is none of my business. However, forcing such thoughts down the throats of my grandchildren is very much my concern. Education automatically overloads on teachers only too willing to spread the gospel, thus creating the problems for the future.

IF THE CRESSIDA WERE A CURRENCY IT WOULD BE GOING DOWN.

The Cressida in question (Dick) has a stock that is very much on the rise. You may recall her part, as a Met Commander, in the Jean Charles de Menezes shooting. It is obvious that such a moment sits well on her CV, as she is now possibly about the third most powerful officer at the 'Yard'. The world of New Labour really does recognize and reward the strangest of incidents, presumably in the name of quotas. We can add the situation of the discarded Speaker of the House of Commons, Michael Martin, who was immediately processed into the Lords. Lord Mandelson of seven or more little foibles, is another case in point.

Strange how they tell the rest of us to get a good education. What's the point, when failure wins the day.

IT MAKES ONE WONDER, WHAT IS THE SECRET?
