UNITED IS THE TEAM IN 'THE RED'.

Early in June of last year we wrote about the parlous financial state of English football, under the title of 'NEW LABOUR WITH A BALL'. Well, following what could be considered an extremely successful season on the pitch for Manchester United, financially it appears to be a disaster, having made a trading loss of well over £40 million. If we add that to the already calamitous debt, which is approaching 3/4 of a billion. How does such a concern survive? We suppose it has something to do with the manager, an arch socialist. What is interesting is, if they make these kind of losses when successful, imagine what it will be like when they ultimately hit a slump. As with most socialists, we can suppose they stick to the mantra of the 'devil take the hindmost'.
