FREEDOM OF THOUGHT AND MIND.

In the last week, here in the UK, we have witnessed two disgraceful decisions regarding the increasing problem people have with the laws imposed upon the nation, regarding the practise of same sex relationships. A couple running a Bed and Breakfast business, naturally within their own home, would not allow two middle aged men to share the same bedroom, due to their strong religious beliefs. For this action, perpetrated with the backing of their well-founded christian faith, the courts found this to be out of order, fining the owners a substancial sum. The second case involved a man who made a comment, 'online', expressing a revulsion to homosexuality; another big 'no no'. According to the law, we can only speak up for the practise of same sex activities. This will probably bring about a backlash, possibly from most of the main religions, and don't underestimate the near certainty of such a rebellion.

The UK Government, are not unlike the communist regimes in the past that ruled the old USSR, which could not suppress the underground movement of the Russian Orthodox Church through all those years. During this period, the now magnificent Cathedral of Christ the Savior, approximately a mile south of the Kremlin, and I seem to remember the venue for Boris Yeltsin's funeral, has a very interesting history. During the early years of communist rule, the original church was used as a warehouse; this was followed eventually by demolition, and the turning of the site into a swimming pool. Very soon it was realised that this was being dogged by problems of subsidence, and following the overthrowing of communism, was returned to a holy site, with the new opulent cathedral. I know this, because I have visited the building.

TO ALL DIM POLITICIANS, BEWARE OF THE STING IN THE TAIL.
