THE PARTY'S OVER.
The parties are, in actual fact, well and truly over for another year. The parties being the annual conferences of the British political divide. We had the LibDems threatening the higher earners with severe tax rises, along with their fellow left wingers, the Labour Party. The Labour leader, 'Thoroughly Modern' Miliband, gave us a speech, which contained endless references to the 'one nation state', a rallying call first attributed to Tory, Disraeli, in the 19th century. Two-faced Ed, only twenty four hours later, assured the public sector that he would be joining them on strike marches. Their demands could only be met by more taxes on the private sector, or increased borrowing, which would incur deferred taxes for future generations; the slippery slope to financial oblivion.
Thirdly, Prime Minister Cameron did what he does best, that is to deliver a well crafted oration for the benefit for his party faithful, much of which should have been espoused on coming to office in May 2010. We are now, of course, beginning the wind down to the next election. On this occasion, Cameron has to deliver. Competent leaders must exercise a ruthless streak, confronting the major concerns head on. Here are a few of the things that need his undivided attention: Our relationship with Europe, no longer will a fudge be adequate; Immigration/population control; Returning land to green belt with a greater emphasis on agriculture, and finally, taking a serious look at this ridiculous waste of money on 'green concerns', which would be answered by reducing the population. All these things will have to be dealt with if he wants my vote.
READY, STEADY, GO.
