ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE UN-HYPED ARTICLES.
We, I am sure, are surprised to learn that this Government has passed so many laws in the last ten years carrying a prison sentence, that they average one every four days, evidently. It really is astounding that a Government which is so reluctant to keep any criminal in gaol, wastes so much time on instituting all this fanciful legislation, eminating from a vast army of unelected officials in Brussels. It is of course to employ people. Firstly in Government, but more importantly, in the world of law practice, where an even larger army of people are beavering away at taxpayer GB's expense.
Perhaps 2009 is the year that people who foot the bill should have a greater say. The author is fearful that the longer the UK accepts sleep -walking to disaster without making democratic moves, the more dangerous the future will be.
