MARK CARNEY SAYS "GOD BLESS THE SAVERS".
The new governor of the Bank of England is continuing the system whereby, the savers, normally the senior citizens such as myself, will continue to endeavour to help reduce the National Debt. This is done, he hopes, by keeping interest rates at a farcical 0.5%. We have completely lost the plot regarding capitalism, and how it works. It should be to keep everyone contented. Unfortunately, the establishment is still bent on getting borrowers to indulge themselves with cheap money, and we all know where that leads.
This week I have received, from my bank, notification that two of my old ISAs will have their dividends cut, from a little over 2%, to just below. An ISA by the way, is a form of tax free saving here in the UK; each year we can have a cash ISA up to £5,760. After a year, they remain tax free, but with a reduced return.
Can anybody explain to me how we get ourselves out of a financial hole by persecuting the prudent, whilst encouraging the borrowers to flourish?
PERHAPS A DEBTORS PRISON MIGHT HELP.
