KIPPERED BY UKIP.

The last year has certainly seen substantial improvement at the various polls for the anti-Europe party, UKIP. They are now emerging as the Conservative party by disenchanted Tory voters, which includes the author.

The constituency of Eastleigh, on the English south coast, was held by the doubtful Liberal Democrats. As a consequence, a by-election was called to replace the sitting MP, Chris 'Rough' Huhne, who had to stand down following police charges, due to his subversion of the law regarding a driving offence. We can add to this the current insinuations regarding the former Lib-Dem fixer, Lord Rennard, who has been accused of abusing his position with young women party workers. When this news broke, party leader 'the man from Cleggoland' Nick Clegg, denied any knowledge; within days, however, he had to admit that his memory had improved. Another astounding fact the locals appeared to have overlooked, was the closure of a Ford Motor plant, which has now moved to Turkey, with partial funding from the European Union, to which Britain is a major subscriber. It gets more astounding, inasmuch as the Lib-Dem party is the most pro EU outfit in British politics. It hardly adds up.

The one thing that the winners did do, however, was to encourage the electorate to vote by post, before the Lord Rennard news broke. Postal voting is becoming more popular, but remains 'iffy'.

Enter UKIP (the new Conservative party), stage right. Some might call this party a bit of a 'cinderella outfit'. They are, nevertheless, led by the best British politician of his age, the ultra bright, former city trader, Nigel Farage, whose performances in the Brussels Parliament are often sheer dynamite (see Youtube). Many consider that he should have stood in the Eastleigh 'farrargo'. Although I'm not claiming any plaudits here, I emailed my MEP, Roger Helmer, suggesting the very opposite; implying that the party must be about more than one person.

As for the Tories, well, playing into the hands of the political left, promoting same sex marriage, is not endearing their core voters. The Labour Party on the other hand are happy to cruise to the next General Election when they will promise large benefits to the feckless, of which there are many. With UKIP stealing much of the Tory vote, Labour will, more than likely emerge winners, by default.

GOOD ADVICE WILL THEN BE: TO STEER CLEAR OF THE FAN.
