CLIMATE CHANGE: A GLIMMER OF HOPE.

The writer's attention was drawn to a remark made by Chancellor George Osbourne during the Tory Party Conference, covered in an article by Richard North, co-author of the book, 'Scared To Death', regarding the devastating effect this so-called climate change is having on our domestic costs, by way of 'green taxes'; these need to be withdrawn, as colder winters seem to be the coming norm, where we'll witness large numbers of elderly people dying from hypothermia. Add to this the carbon trading that is decimating what remains of the United Kingdom's heavy industry. Well it's a start, but could only be rhetoric.

The real truth lies in the fact that most of these charges are stealth taxes. He, Osbourne has just been caught out about future flight taxes, whereby he admits that the reason is just to raise revenue for the Exchequer. The bottom line is, however, because immigration is costing us dearly, along with the over burgeoning welfare state.

The full title of the above mentioned book is 'Scared to Death: From BSE To Global Warming - Why Scares Are Costing Us The Earth'. If you don't remember BSE, that is the condition that was going to destroy great swathes of the nation by the turn of the century, due to beef consumption. A reminder also, was the fear factor peddled by the last Labour Government, who used it as a part of their platform to get elected. We all know that the Prescotts and the Meachers of this world happen to be eminent Brain Specialists.
