RESPONSIBLE SINGLE PARENTS.

It is refreshing to speak to two single parent mums, who prefer to earn their living rather than leeching from the state. The occasion was at a hospital appointment this a.m, both said mums are nurses and good, considerate professionals; vocational would describe them aptly. One of them explained to me, that along with her seven year old child, on benefits she would be £700 a month better off. If this is not a frightening thought to the reader, it should be.

Both, interestingly, support the current coalition's considerations regarding the streamlining of the benefits system. One of them even quoted her mother, who had pointed out, that every Labour regime leaves us in economic turmoil, a fact well known to every political thinker.

To pay disability benefits to drug addicts and alcoholics is an absolute disgrace; most of our intensive care units are clogged with both. The argument for keeping the benefits in place is mostly based on the suggestion that there would be a dramatic increase in the number of muggings. We could then revert to a little jurisdiction, based upon public opinion. The country will remain uneasy with itself until we make that move.

WELL DONE GIRLS!
