THE BELGIANS FORGET ONE THING.

As the undemocratic choosing of a law making, unelected, President of the European Socialist Federation gets under way, it is emerging from the Belgian press that they are becoming very anti-British. This would be reasonable if the aggression were directed at contender Blair. This appears not to be the case, however, they, the Belgian press, are having a go at us in general. The point about the English language is totally off course, when suggesting that foreigners can't speak it properly; on the contrary, due to the dumbing down by New Labour and the BBC, the language, generally, is spoken far better in other parts of the world. Regarding the question of beer: Very often it is too cold and many a good real ale out flavours the boring over-hyped continental lagers. We can't argue about the weather, and we certainly can't do a thing about it. However, it is worth recalling that we entered WWI, having told Germany not to violate Belgium soil.

ALL THE FACTS PLEASE, BELGIUM.
