HOW ARE THINGS IN THE US of A?

It is interesting to note that our largest readership is in America. I haven't written much recently about your political scene, as viewed from this side of the pond. Things are bound to heat up somewhat in the near future, as campaigning will presumably get more intense.

It must be obvious from these postings, that the author is a conservative. Anything else in a democracy tends to give money away, which is always other people's. Naturally, the people on the 'take', vote for a piece of that. In Britain we get that all the time, aided and abetted by the licence funded BBC. The BBC has a sneering elitism, many of whom, the overpaid senior presenters, develop tax dodges, something for which they criticise high earners in the world of business and commerce.

Another story emerging currently: Children under ten years of age are being told not to have best friends, or indeed boy or girl friends. One wonders if heterosexuality could become illegal.

For any American that might be interested, we have an Iowan grandson with a second offspring in the making.

NB: Our sister blog, Brussels! Good For You? (http://europeanfantasy.blogspot.com), also attracts more attention from the States than elsewhere. In addition, for anyone who enjoys old (proper) songs, you can hear the writer, every Wednesday at 10.00pm (22.00hrs) UK time, on www.103theeye.co.uk

FOR ANY OF YOU INTENDING TO VISIT FOR THE OLYMPICS, ENJOY.
