BEWARE THE IDES OF MARCH.
Forget party politics, the foregoing is serious.
Following the week when monopoly money became a major world currency, perhaps you might consider some views of an everyday taxpayer.
The bad news, and it's mainly bad, is that I shall endeavour to continue for the rest of my life. The good news, however, is that I am already a Septuagenarian.
NOTHING COMES FROM NOTHING,
NOTHING EVER COULD (Rodgers/Hammerstein)
As the tickle half of polly-tickle, let me explain how my interest in politics began. In the Summer of 1945 I was in my tenth year. My mother, who was brain washed by her father into considering that Winston Churchill was a warmonger, thought that socialism was the way to go and, at the request of the local labour agent, offered my assistance to collect voters' numbers at a local polling station for the first general election after the second world war.
This happened to be about 5 miles from my home and I was deposited there in time for the start of polling.
That was the last time I saw the agent until after the polls closed: not a soul from the party was there in support, and my welfare was looked after adequately by people representing the opposition i.e given cups of tea and cakes. On returning home, I informed my mother that I knew I would never vote for the Labour party, as they were and are a self serving organisation. Subsequently proving to be an inept bunch of people who, generally, couldn't hold down a proper job.
By my early teens I had converted my mother to think more logically, pointing out that if Churchill were a warmonger, how lucky we were. Amusingly, even the agent, who was a bright and clever civil engineer, within months had jumped ship.
My observations of socialism have always been clear, in their pursuance of producing a large section of society which is totally reliant upon the government (tax payer). This includes the millions who are employed via state funding. Retiring at 60 and in many cases to lead the life of Riley, at the behest of the few people left generating money, who in many cases cannot afford a pension plan and may have to work until they drop. This, of course, doesn't apply to our MPs however, who can vote themselves increases in income and pensions regularly. THIS HAS GOT TO STOP! An independent body must determine how much these representatives of the people are worth. Remember, they are voted into power by the electorate and must perform according to our wishes.
The situation is not confined to the government alone, weak opposition is completely pointless. Why should we be interested in three parties fighting over the same small area of well trodden turf? Why should we be represented by anybody who's buying votes with OPM (other peoples money). Ours!
Let us consider a few of the suspects who have been joined together to destroy a once upon a time green and pleasant land. You will notice that the two main protaganists are Scots. The population of Scotland is approximately 10% of that of England. THINK ABOUT IT!
SITTING BULL cv: Ran christmas club at university before becoming Chancellor of the exchequer/currently PM(Head of demolition) going through age of change following hit and miss economic cycle. Remarks: ECONOMIC NEOPHYTE.
